Homemade Blueberry Scone

Blueberries, kind of versatile fruits can be used in any recipes whether its Jam, Scone, Cake, Cupcake, or Fruit Tart. Today I am making blueberry scone which tastes so much better than any store-bought ones. It takes no time to make and just needs a few ingredients.

Prep time: 10 Min

Cook time: 20 min

Total time: 30 Min

Serving size: 8

INGREDIENTS:

All-purpose flour: 2 cups

Baking soda/powder: 1 tsp each

Granulated sugar: 2 tbsp

Unsalted butter: 4 1/2 tbsp

Fresh or Frozen blueberries:1 cup

Whole milk: 1 cup

Salt: 1/4 tsp

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat the oven to 350 Degree F.

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients in a medium bowl. I have grated the cold butter to make the mixture crumbly but you can also press the butter with the help of a fork. Add butter to the mixture and make it a coarse mixture. Add the heavy milk and knead for 5 about five minutes. Gently mix the blueberries to the mixture. For better results keep it refrigerated for 5 to 10 minutes.

       2. On a flour-dusted surface roll the dough into a rectangle shape about 1 1/2 inch thick. Cut the dough into 8 triangles and place it on a greased baking sheet. Brush heavy milk on top of the dough to sprinkle about 1/2 tbsp of sugar. Bake for 20 minutes till golden brown and your blueberry scone is done. Enjoy
